Social Media

Many of our young people are engaging on Social Media. We want to work with you to make this communication avenue as safe as we can. Whilst we do not want to assume all youth are on Social Media we recognise that many are. For youth under 13, as stated by law, our leaders will have no engagement with youth on Social Media.

As part of the Christ Church St Ives Children's, Youth & Families Social Contact Policy & Procedures, we seek your permission for the right leader(s) to interact with your child in the right ways according to specific policy guidelines.

You are welcome to read the full policy or ask further questions at any time - please contact us via youth@christchurch.com.au

For parents / guardians of children and young people of all ages:

Note: This may include promotional materials in both physical and electronic formats, and use on official Christ Church social media accounts.

For parents / guardians of children in Year 6-12 during the calendar year:

If in the event our Youth programs (School Year 6-12) are unable to go ahead due to Government restrictions on gatherings and people movements (e.g. COVID-19 Restrictions), online growth groups will be arranged through Zoom or an alternative online platform.

Please note: leaders will never initiate friend or follow requests.

If no, the leader will be required to seek specific permission from you to post in each instance.

Please note that if you have given these permissions, we expect that you will monitor your child's device, including any SMS/ Messenger interactions with their leader(s), as we partner with you in building healthy, helpful, safe ministry relationships.

For parents / guardians of children and young people in ministry roles:

This applies where youth may also be Kids Church Leaders, or Band Members, so also have oversight from a Ministry Team Leader (Kids Church Team Leader, Music Team Leader or Band Leader) in addition to their direct year group youth leader(s).

Additional information
